Greets and Huggers. Posted the evening of September 15, 2006. And in the "lock me in a room with them, so we can pray together", department:   GRAFTON, West Virginia (AP) -- Judge: 'You should never have been a mother'. "A woman who forced her stepchildren to gorge themselves on food and drink, then eat their own vomit has been sentenced to two to six years in prison. Venus Critchfield, 35, of Philippi, West Virginia, was also accused of beating the children's feet with boards, and using ropes and hooks to force them to stand for long periods, said Taylor County Prosecutor John Bord ... Their father, Jennings Brian Critchfield, is serving a three- to 15-year prison sentence for abuse." The abuse started in 1997 .. even today, some of these kids refused to testify against their "mother". Since these kids are now 11 - 16 years old, they must have been 3 - 7 at the time the abuse started. It took 9 years to rescue these children??? I would like to do some SERIOUS praying with/on this pilgrim!!! ... and ... Susan shared an Email with me ... sent from one of her "rescue" friends: "Justin, 17, and Joshua Moulder, 18, the Atlanta brothers charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and felony aggravated cruelty to animals. Last month, the teens vandalized a newly renovated recreation center at an apartment complex. They brought a five-month-old puppy along. They doused the dog in paint, hog-tied his feet, duct taped his mouth, and attempted to burn him alive. When flames didn't kill the still alert puppy, they baked him to death inside an oven." Both of these posts raise an interesting question. No doubt, you and I have a desire to beat the living sh*t out of all of these worthless pieces of cr*p. But then ... how would Jesus, Mohamed, the Buddha or Mahatma Gandhi view these acts? Interesting question ... isn't it? .... <whispering> ... I have this vision of Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha and Gandhi beating the living sh*t out of these wastes of skin! They wouldn't. I would .... and would feel really good doing so. Sure goes to show, how far from "grace" I am. Same philosophical issue. What is acceptable interrogating terrorists?

ALTOETTING , Germany, September 12, 2006 (AP) -- Pope: Conversion by violence not of God "Pope Benedict XVI said Tuesday that Islamic holy war was against God's nature and invited Muslims to join in a peaceful cultural dialogue. In a speech at Regensburg University, Benedict made an unusual reference to jihad, or holy war -- a concept used by today's Islamic extremists to justify suicide bombings and other attacks. Benedict's address was about faith and reason, and how they cannot be separated and are essential for "that genuine dialogue of cultures and religions so urgently needed today." And in response, (CNN) -- Muslim fury at pope jihad comments. "Pope Benedict XVI came under a hail of criticism from the Islamic world Friday for comments he made earlier in the week regarding the Prophet Mohammed and the Muslim faith, in some cities provoking street protests." Muslim leaders called for a personal apology from the Pope, because the Pope's quote defamed Islam: "The attribution of the spread of Islam around the world to the shedding of blood and violence, which is 'incompatible with the nature of God' " It is my understanding ... Ben Ladin issued a fatwa, calling on the Muslim faithful to kill the Pope.

WAUKEGAN, Illinois (AP) -- Death after two-hour ER wait ruled homicide. "A coroner's jury has declared the death of a heart attack victim who spent almost two hours in a hospital waiting room to be a homicide. Beatrice Vance, 49, died of a heart attack, but the jury at a coroner's inquest ruled Thursday that her death also was "a result of gross deviations from the standard of care that a reasonable person would have exercised in this situation." Yup ... and we can encourage change and accountability in our "Emergency Rooms" by limiting the liability of the folks that work there. Believe they call it "Tort Reform" ... So share with me ... because "Tort Reform" removes any incentive for the medical profession to clean up it's act, how much of an increase over the 80,000 - 90,000 medical malpractice deaths a year do you project? Really makes sense, doesn't it?

BBC NEWS - Colombian gangsters face sex ban. "Wives and girlfriends of gang members in one of Colombia's most violent cities have called a sex ban in a bid to get their men to give up the gun. Dozens of women are said to be taking part in what is being called the "strike of crossed legs", a move backed by the mayor of Pereira ... Studies found that local gang members were drawn to criminality by the desire for status, power, and sexual attractiveness, not economic necessity, Colombian radio reported." ... <scratching my head> ... Ok. So what else is new? Like the males of our species have not been killing each other to attract the attention of females since, as a species, we were aware enough to realize plumbing differences? And I'm curious .... just what does "economic necessity" mean ... if you have status, power and sexual attractiveness?

TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) -- Poisoned pigeons fall from sky in Texarkana. "Poisoned pigeons began nose-diving into pavement and dying on downtown sidewalks, marring the city's annual festival. Authorities cleaned up more than 25 sick or dead birds that apparently had eaten poisoned corn from the roof of a nearby bank branch. "The death of these pigeons was more than an unfortunate accident," local CapitalOne Bank President Lacy McMillen said in Tuesday's online edition of Texarkana Gazette. "It was not the intention of the bank to harm any of these birds." Sheesh! Talk about a public relations nightmare!! So you put out "poison" with no intent to harm? Most folks I know, don't consider "poison" ... health food. And in related news .... WASHINGTON (AP) -- E. coli outbreak spreads to 10th state. "Federal health officials worked Friday to find the source of a multistate E. coli outbreak and warned consumers that even washing the suspect spinach won't kill the sometimes deadly bacteria." Apparently, this stain of E coli, is particularly nasty in that it requires incineration to effectively kill it. It has spread to 20 States and CDC does not know who the wholesaler is, so it is recommending the destruction of all bagged spinach . Rumor has it ... no one really worried about infected spinach until it killed a sailor named Popeye. .... <whispering> ... Lance, this is not a conspiracy by the Bush administration! The spinach industry, maybe ... but not the Bush Administration :)

NEW YORK (AP) -- Woman in wheelchair on way to gun practice shoots mugger. "Margaret Johnson might have looked like an easy target. But when a mugger tried to grab a chain off her neck Friday, the 56-year-old Johnson, while riding in her wheelchair, pulled out her licensed .357 pistol and shot him, police said ... "There's not much to it," she said in a brief interview. "Somebody tried to mug me, and I shot him." Mr. Rogers would be proud. "Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor ... " Well, not for Deron Johnson, who was taken to Harlem Hospital with a single bullet wound in the elbow. And in related news: WASHINGTON (AP) -- Justice: Gun crime rises, overall violence drops. "Americans were robbed and victimized by gun violence at greater rates last year than the year before, even though overall violent and property crime reached a 32-year low, the Justice Department said Sunday. Experts said these increases buttress reports from the FBI and many mayors and police chiefs that violent crime is beginning to rise after a long decline." No doubt Mr. Deron Johnson thinks so. We really do need to disarm these vicious old ladies in wheel chairs.

Sitting here editing these Ramblings and getting ready to head out the door. My Blue Lodge has installation of officers tonight and I'm shooting the pictures. In the morning, the First Christian Church is having a bake sale and at noon, the Missouri Alpaca Growers Association is having their annual get together at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. On Sunday we will put out an additional 10, 4' x 8' signs. .... <sigh> .... need to raise an additional $2,500.00 for my newspaper inserts. We switched to T - Mobile so my clients and "shoppers" can get ahold of me while I'm walking door to door. Still, you take a hit in income. There is no way I could do this without Susan's help. The one thing I look forward to each day, is curling up next to Susan and holding her while I drift off to sleep. And doing so, the ability to say a prayer of thanks for the many blessings we enjoy. I remember our men and women in uniform in prayer as well, (care to join me tonight?) .... <whispering> .... Please, Please, Please, God, let them come home safe and soon! Be and sleep well. The best there is, is on watch so you can. If my post offends, I apologize ... that is not my intent. As always ...

A Warm Brotherly Hug
